If you've just signed up as a member, or you've been grandfathered in as a previous donor, you'll shortly receive a few emails from us. (One of the things we're working on: automating this better so they go out immediately. Bear with us.) You'll receive a membership login for this site, which will give you more options to explore what we're doing, and more importantly, add to what we're doing—for example, letting us know about Pugwash-style events in your area that other Pugwash members might want to attend. (Especially right now when most events are virtual and location doesn't matter.)
You'll also get information about using Basecamp, the site we're testing for our online community hub. This site is meant to be two things at once: a place for Pugwash members to discuss, network, and socialize, and also where volunteers working on committees and project teams get their work done and communicate with the general membership. It's not easy to make a site friendly for chatting and useful for working at the same time, and we're not 100% sold on Basecamp yet—so we'll appreciate your kicking the tires and letting us know what you think.
